Expressions of Interest: The D*List Board of Trustees

Tēnā koutou katoa! Are you passionate about ending ableism, growing disability culture, and shaping the future of The D*List? We are looking for passionate and committed individuals to join our Trustee Board.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute your skills, experience, and perspectives to a kaupapa dedicated to positive change for Deaf and disabled people and whānau hauā in Aotearoa.

  • We welcome expressions of interest from people who are ready to help guide The D*List’s strategic direction and ensure good governance. While we are open to all EOIs, we are especially interested in hearing from:

    • Tāngata whaikaha, whānau hauā, and Deaf and disabled people

    • Rangatahi looking to grow their leadership skills

    • People with financial knowledge and governance expertise

We are looking to appoint up to 3x Trustees for a 3-year term. As the position is not location focused, we encourage applications from across Aotearoa.

Trustees meet quarterly in Tāmaki Makaurau at The D*List Community Hub. All travel expenses are covered by the trust, and trustees are offered a meeting fee of $500 in acknowledgment of their time and expertise.

All applications will be reviewed by our appointment panel made up of existing trustees, and everyone who submits an EOI will receive a response throughout the selection process.

Following the recent retirement of two trustees, our current trustees are:

    • Robbie Francis Watene

    • Donna McCaskill

    • Erin Gough

Applicants are encouraged to submit written or recorded applications to MahiToaWorkforce@gmail.com.

    In your application, please include:

    • Why you would like to join The D*List Board of Trustees. You could include:

      • Your aspirations for the organisation

      • What you would gain from being a D*List trustee

      • How your leadership would strengthen, grow or improve The D*List

    • Outline any relevant knowledge, skills, professional background, or lived experience that you would bring to The D*List

    • Anything else you would like us to know about you

Applications close at 5pm on Sunday 5th April.

We are committed to our board being a space where disabled people thrive. We are happy to cover any accessibility-related costs required for you to submit an EOI and/or participate in an interview equitably and with dignity - just let us know what you need.

If you have pātai, queries or for the full Trustee Role Description, please contact Donna at MahiToaWorkforce@gmail.com
