2026 marks 20 years since NZSL was recognised as an official language of Aotearoa. Two decades of language, pride, and community strength!

*These classes have started and are now full

 

We're excited to be hosting free NZSL classes led by Deaf advocate and educator Monica Leach, specifically for disabled people in Tāmaki Makaurau. These classes are an opportunity to learn simple NZSL skills, as well as expand your knowledge of Deaf culture.

There's a 4-week afternoon course, and a 4-week evening course. Email events@thedlist.co.nz if you'd like to sign up - we'd love to see you there.

Access information:
- Our space has 1x non-gendered 
accessible bathroom
- We have two large air purifiers running and natural ventilation
- The width of the entry door is 79cm
-There will be a NZSL Interpreter in these classes for any access needs and learning support
